There is nothing new under the sun. From a macro perspective, my life is only left with repetition and monotony. My happiness and joy depend on my ability to feel, but what have I felt from the repetition of daily life?
Habit is the beginning of numbness. Once accustomed, the corresponding senses will close off.
The repetition and habits of daily life make me more and more numb, unable to feel alive. In order to activate my long-closed senses and soul, perhaps going on a trip is a good idea. I really want to take a train and once again observe and feel this world. I remember the first long-distance trip when I was young, looking at the bright red sun outside the window in the morning, the receding mountains and tall buildings, there were various indescribable feelings and images surging in my heart. At that time, my heart was so sensitive and perceptive, but now it has become dull, withered, or maybe even dead.
I increasingly feel how important it is to have a sensitive heart, otherwise I can't truly be alive, no different from a walking corpse.
The senses and soul of a person are like a delicate instrument. The more we repeat the same stimulation, the more severe the wear and tear, and the ability to feel and sensitivity will decrease. One way to remedy severe wear and tear is to pause and switch to a different kind of stimulation, then switch back after a period of time, and its ability to feel and sensitivity to this stimulation will recover.
However, many times, certain stimuli that our senses and soul receive only happen once. Many things cannot be repeated, and those beautiful moments can only be cherished in memories, while regretful past events cannot be changed. Time always moves forward and cannot be reversed. Although some things can be repeated, such as watching a movie, but for our feelings, each "repetition" is different from before. So, strictly speaking, true repetition does not exist.
It should be known that in their respective contexts, the saying "there is nothing new under the sun" and "every day's sun is new" are both truths.
